2400 A WEEK To Reinforce A.I.F. [Aust. & N.Z. Cable Assn.] (Received February 8, 12.40 a.m.) MELBOURNE, February 7. Monthly quotas of 2400 men will be raised to reinforce the Australian Imperial Force, said the Minister of the Army (Colonel Street) to-day, after a War Cabinet meeting. Tilt first of these reinforcements has been recruited, and is now training. Recruiting depots have been ' established in various camps, where militiamen are now undergoing three months ’training, as it is specially desired that militia non-commissioned officers will be induced to join the reinforcements.
