RUSSIANS REPULSED

Russian offensives against the Mannerheim Line continue. - The Finnish forces have success,fully repulsed all attacks, with heavy Russian losses. * HELSINKI. February 6. A Finnish communique announces Ihe repulse of the Russian attack on Summa, despite the employment of a hundred armoured cars, the destruction of the onslaughts on Pitkaranta and the coast, wjth the loss of several. hundreds. - The Russians air-bombed Kajano Kasku. killing two and injuring several, besides dropping parachutes in North Finland. Fifty parachutists are reported killed after a sharp engagement. . A Russian communique cites patrol activity and minor artillery duels, infantry skirmishes, and aeroplane reconnaissances. NO GERMAN MEDIATION.
BERLIN, February 6The Wilhelmstrasse (Foreign Office) after receiving reports from Schulenburg and Bluecher, decided I there was no basis for intervention in the Russo-Finnish conflict, adding that even President Kallio’s suggestion to negotiate was unacceptable. Germany would keep aloof, although Russia was her special friend.
