And Lord Willingdon (Per Press Association!. WELLINGTON, January 19. The flying boat 'Aotearoa returned direct from Sydney this afternoon shortly before 5 p.m. Hon. F. J’ones, Minister of Defence returned by the craft, and she also brought Lord Willingdon who will represent the British Government at the Centennial celebrations, accompanied by Lady Willingdon and Lord Errmgton (private secretary). Also aboard were Senator Mcßride (representing the Commonwealth Government at the celebrations, accompanied by Mrs Mcßride and Mr Williams (private secretary). Mrs Jones and Mr F. B. Dwyer, of the Army Department. After the’ necessary Health and Customs requirements the party were conveyed to a floating barge moored at the Patent Slip, Evans Bay, and the visitors were met by Mr Nash, on behalf of the Government; Captain Lord Dormer, A.D.C., on behalf of the Governor-General; Sir Harry Batterbee, High Commissioner for the United Kingdom in New Zealand; Mr. M. Z. Eliott Chairman of the HarbourBoard; Mr fclislop, Mayor; Mr C. E. Critchley, Australian Trade Commissioner; Mr R. Boulter. H.M. Trade Commissioner; and M. Pouquet. Consul for France. A short address of welcome was delivered by Mr Eliott.’ Lord Willingdon replying. The party proceeded to the Hotel Waterloo, where they will reside during their sojourn in Wellington.
