There was more activity at the State Placemtnt Office at Greymouth this week than for many past, a total of 24 private, placements having been effected, comprisiijjg 14 permanent, seven ’' temporary ana ithree casual. In .-the previous three weeks the total placements were' 19, 'comprising 12 permanent, six temporary, and one casual. This week’s placements comprised four permanent and three casual labourers, three permanent, general farm•' labourers, one permanent nurse attendant, two permanent sawmill hands, . .two ’ permanent truckers, one temporary youth canvasser, one permanent youth w’th .the. Public Works Department, six ..temporary labourers on 4B contracts, and one permanent probationer nurse.
