SOCIAL, DOINGS AT SYDNEY. ' (Received January 17, 11 p.m.) SYDNEY, January 17. The New Zealand Minister of Defence, Hon. F. J'ones, by courtesy of the Sydney Cricket Ground Trustees, visited the ground to-day at the conclusion of the day’s play between New South Wales and South Australia. He conversed briefly with leading players, including Bradman and Grimmett. Mr. Jones to-morrow will meet the Australian Minister for the Army Mr. Street. To-night, Mr. Jones dined with the Governor-Gen-eral, Lord Gowrie.
