NEW JAPANESE CABINET APPOINTMENT OF MINISTERS NEW YORK, January 14. The United Press of America correspondent, in a message from Tokio. states that Admiral Yonai has appointed Mr Arita as Foreign Mimster, Admiral Yoshida as Minister of the Navy, and Mr Ishiwatari as Chief Secretary. Admiral Yonai is expected to announce acceptances of the remaining Cabinet posts within a day. U.S.A. CREDITS FOR CHINA WASHINGTON, January 12. Mr James A. Moffett,’ chairman of the Californian Texas Oil Company, conferred with Mr Roosevelt, after which he told the United Press that China was seeking additional United States credits to supplement the 25,000,000 dollars already provided by the Export and Import Bank, making an over-all credit of 100,000,000 dol lars. He added that reports of his company indicated that China was steadily amortising its original credit, exporting to the United States through Indo-Chiua. Department of Commerce statistics for the first 10 months of 1939 show that United States exports to China were 40,384,000 dollars, compared with 28, 802,000 in 1938. Imports from China were 46,647,000 dollars, a 21 per cent, increase oevr 1938.
