Thiele is at present a patient at the Westland Hospital. ' The heavy rai n of Friday and the i preceding days inundated this settlement at the lower end, where tne Little Wanganui River was running down the La Fontaine Creek, with the result that the southern approach of the La Fontaine Creek bridge was scoured out. The residence of Mr Walter Witiske had water in it to a depth of a foot, while flood water, surrounded a new residence recently erected by Mr Tom Foster on the south side of the Little Wanganui Rver bridge. There also was six inches of water in the garage of lite N.Z. Railway Road Service, opposite the Harihari Hall. Tar-sealing that was completed last week here will require further sealing as a result of the inundation.
