His Majesty the King and President Lebrun of France have exchanged New Year greetings. : His Majesty, said: “With the greatest confidence, I forsee a.victory.in which we shall, enjoy a peace no longer troubled by threats of violence from those who have manifested their aversion from peace, except that of subjection and oppression.” . >„ ' . Mr-Lebrun said: “France, Britain and their Dominions are equally resolved to terminate the criminal aggressions which have plunged so many innocent populations iijto mourning and servitude.”
