FRIENDLY MATCHES PLAYED. In a friendly match at the Recreation Ground yesterday afternoon, a Marist School team defeated the Old Beys by 79 runs on the first innings. School batted first and made a good stand, putting on 160 runs. W. Meates retired 29, V. Meates 16. Breen, retired 22. and Bellis 21, made the runs. Leach (3 for 27),’ was the outstanding bowler. Old Boys made only 81 runs, Tindale not out 50 and J. Leitch making the runs. Hamilton (5 for 12), O’Brien (3 for 8), and C. Mcßride (2 for 5), took the wickets.
