CRICKET
APPEAL TO CONTINUE N.Z. COMPETITIONS CHRISTCHURCH, September 19. In support of the views expressed by the New Zealand Government, the New Zealand Cricket Council appeals to all associations, clubs, and cricketers to maintain their , competitions so far as possible during the coming season. In doing so, they will be fulfilling a nationaF duty, and rendering useful service to the community generally. It is understood that in so doing:. players will not allow cricket to interfere" with their military obligations.
