Prior to his departure, Mr. Croft was farewelled by fellow-officers representing all branches of the service, and was presented with a beaten copper firescreen, and a fireside companion' set. The presentation was made by the Stationmaster, Mr. G. D. Smart,, who expressed appreciation of Mr.. The funeral of the late Mr Robert Baird Tennent, took place at Karoro Cemetery yesterday afternoon .’and was largely attended. A special tram from Hokitika brought a large number of mourners from that district. There were numerous floral tributes their conveyance necessitating thes-USe of a special motor vehicle. The services at the residence of Mr, J. Tennent, Nelson Street, and at the’ side were conducted by Rev? Aj D. Horwell, assisted by Rev. -•, Murray Fiest, of Hokitika. The Masonic service was conducted by Mr T. H. Jones, of the Greymouth' Lodge. The pall bearers were Messrs R. Thomas (Hokitika Pacific Lodge), F.
