N.Z. Successes at Brisbane (Received September 5, 11.30 p.m.) BRISBANE, September 5. Mrs Palmer to-day became a semifinalist in the open croquet championship with a good win against Mrs Rogers (New South Wales), who was strongly favoured. Mrs McCreath is among others still in this section. Today’s New Zealanders’ results were as follows: — Open Championship:—Mrs Palmer won 26/0; Mrs McCreath beat Mrs Bryant 26/21. Semi-final:—Mrs Palmer won 26/16. President’s Trophy:—R. W. McCreath won 26/8; Mrs Palmer won 26/6. A Grade Doubles Handicap:—Mesdames Griffen and Keys won 26/12; J. Thompson and Mrs Thompson lost 18/26 Doubles Championship:—Mrs Keys and partner beat Mrs Palmer and R. W. McCreath 26/9. Fisher Trophy: —Mrs McCreath won 26/8; Mrs Bryant won 26/5; J. Thompson won on a forfeit; Mrs Lowery won 19/18. B Grade Singles Handicap:—Mrs Neilson lost 12/26. Bronze Medal Final: —Mrs Henderson won 26/20.
