German Army RECEIVED HITLER’S MESSAGE BRITAIN BLAMED. BERLIN, Septembei' 3. “The British Government let its mask fall and proclaimed war on a threadbare pretext,” declared Herr Hitler, in a message to the German Army on the western front. He then proceeds: “Britain, driven on by those war-mongers whom we knew in the last, war, has done this, despite me fact, that Germany made no demands against any State westward of the Reich, and despite Germany’s offer oi a cordial understanding, and oven friendship. Herr Hitler repeats lhe allegation that British protection led to Polish aggression. “I am determined to blow up this ring Which has been laid round Germany,” he declared. Claiming success for the Army and Air Force against Polish attacks, Herr Hitler declares that their eastern comrades expect the soldiers of the western front to protect the Reich and refers to the Siegfried fortifications as 100 times stronger than the western front Un the Great War, which was never conquered. “If you do your duty, <ho battle hi the east will have reached a successful conclusion in a few months. POLAND’S CASE. AGAINST GERMANY. LONDON, September 3. Polish wireless stations interrupted their programmes at 1 p.m., with the dramatic interjection: “Germany, Britain has declared war on you.” Then, the English and Polish National Anthems were played.
