PURSUANT to Section 42 of “The Local' Election and Polls Act, 1925,” I hereby give notice that an Election will be held on WEDNESDAY, the 27th day of September, 1939 for the purpose of electing a Councillor to fill the extraordinary vacancy occurring by reason of the death of Alfred Hughes Paterson, and I appoint the office of the Town Hall, Mackay Street, Greymouth as the place, and Friday, the 15th day of September, 1939 (before noon) as the d,ay for the nomination of candidates for such office. Nomination papers must be signed by two electors and the candidate and delivered to the said Town Clerk’s Office before noon on the said 15th day of September, 1939.
