Catalogue: During his career up to date, Catalogue has won £11,839 in stakes. Micawber: As a result of showing good form in Queensland, »t.he Tippler horse MicawI ber is expected to make a bold bid Jin the Epsom Handicap. I Boswell: Boswell is back in work at Invercargill ,and the Balboa stallion looks a picture of condition. He has thrived during his absence from the tracks and is in wonderful order to begin a preparation. Boswell was one of the stars of last season’s graduates from the hack ranks, and no horse in Southland has better prospects of making a name for himself over middle distances this season. Boswell compiled a great record last season, as in 11 starts he was only once out of the money, winning four, being five times second and once third. One of the finest efforts put up by the Balboa gelding was in the Dunedin Jockey Club Handicap, when he tried to win all the way, but was narrowly beaten by Thermidor in 2min 12 2-5-sec—a track record for the 10l furlongs. Big things will be expected of Boswell in the new season. Interesting Trial: An interesting trial between the John Grigg Stakes candidates, Gold Flight, Noko, and Wild Coon, took place at Riverton during the week. From a barrier start the three two-year-olds jumped away together and ' passed the post almost in line. The two furlongs were run in better than 26sec. The smart manner in which the youngsters jumped out from the : barrier was most impressive and all three completed the trial in sound I style. < Ocean Singer: ; Ocean Singer is back in work at ; Invercargill, and he has put on some J condition during his spell. He has re- J covered from the injury he received at the Dunedin winter meeting, and , present plans are" to keep him at the < hurdling game, a department in which < he showed great promise in the little J he has done
