LPer Press Association]. WELLINGTON, August 28. The weather report is as follows: General situation: An anti-cyclone remains centred to the south-east of New Zealand. Pressure is low to the south-west, and a series of weak depressions is passing in the North. Forecast: Winds moderate to fresh, westerlies north of Taranaki and Hawke’s Bay, but elsewhere moderate north easterlies still predominating. Seas (New Zealand waters): Rather rough north of Kawhia and south of Banks Peninsula; elsewhere slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate to stremg westerly winds and rough seas in the northern portion; light to fresh northerly winds and moderate seas in the southern portion. Weather mainly fair from z the Waikato district northwards, and in the western and southern areas of the South Island, but with some passing showers, especially in the North; elsewhere still dull and unsettled, with occasional rain or drizzle. Temperatures mild in the north, and moderate in the South.
