Crawley, president of the Nelson Rugby Union, arrived in Westport yesterday by plane. 1 Mr P. C. Allen has arrived from Wellington to join the Westport staff of the Union Steam Ship Company. Mr R. Bush is a visitor to Westport for the Seddon Shield match. Messrs J. Anderson, Spencer, Moore and Haase arrived from Nelson last evening for to-day’s Seddon Shield match. „ , Mr and Mrs Stribley, of Christchurch, are visiting Westport as the guests of Mr and Mrs McCrae, Peel Street. Mrs'Gerald Greer, accompanied by Miss Tui Greer, of Palmerston North, , is spending a short holiday with Mr and Mrs Joe Morgan, Queen Street. Messrs P. J. Rodgers, B. R. Veysey, G. Veysey and J. C. Brown, of Nelson, are visiting Westport. Mrs Lovell (nee Miss Grace Shaw) is visiting Westport for the Seddon Shield match. Mrs Lovell was previously a resident of Westport. Miss Molly Mullan,, who is leaving next week for England, to continue her studies, was the guest of Mrs A. A. Wilson, at an afternoon in the latter’s home yesterday. There were 25 guests, including many ex-students of Nels’on Girls’ College, and a particularly pleasing feature of the gathering was the presentation to Miss Mullan of a past students’ blazer. AU joined in wishing the guest a very happy trip and success in her further educational studies. The procession was led by the two little flower-girls, Miss Gracie Methven and Miss Marylon Williams. The debutantes were Misses Madge Douthett, Madge Parkinson, Patricia Lutton, Zelda Bucknell, Moyna Hansby, Patricia Gardiner, Margaret Kerr. The debutantes were attended by Messrs L. Blunt. R. Naylor. R. Fountaine, C. McHerron A. Daily, R. Regan and R. Kilkenny. Tributes to the younger generation were paid by Mr J. Kilkenny. Mr J. Lake •was M.C. for the presentation ceremony and Messrs C. M. Robertson and H. Pain M’s.C. for the dancing. A dainty supper was served by the ladies’ committee, to whom a special vote of thanks was accorded.
