THE MEDICAL SCHOOL

DUNEDIN, June 20. Three members of the medical staff of Otago University, two professors and one lecturer, tendered their resignations to a meeting of the Otago University Council to-day. Dr. Carmalt Jones, professor of systematic medicine, and Dr. Frank Fitchett, professor of clinical mediwrote giving six months notice of their intention to resign from their positions. Dr. E. H. Williams tendered his resignation as a lecturer on diseases of children The resignations were accepted with regret, and high tributes were paid to the valuable services given the University by each of the retiring professors and lecturer. The chancellor (Mr W. J. Morell) in reply to a question, said the vacancies would be covered by the new chair of medicine.
