“CHAMBERLAIN MUST GO”
The National Government Betrayal of The People’s Protest Campaign. (The following extract, written by a 78-year-old Scottish miner, Mr Andrew McAnulty, of Glasgow (for 40 years an official of the Scottish Mine Workers’ Federation) is from a letter to his daughter in Greymouth).
In this Government betrayal, which the people now' proclaim, We should get right down to business, to accomplish our aim. Let us mobilise our forces, on the Cripps petition plan! And remove our spineless Premier, and his foul appeasement clan? Scrap the role of Base Surrender, which these servile wretches ply, When they sell-out someone’s country to appease the Fascist fry. It encourages aggression and defeats the cause of peace. And will make the world a jungle if it gets a longer lease.
