ADDINGTON MARKET Sheep Firm [Our Own correspondent J CHRISTCHURCPI, June 21. There was a good demand for cattle at to-day’s Addington sale which Messrs H. Matson and Co. review us follows: — S.ore Sheep.—The entry was 1009 There was a better demand, especially lor wethers, these selling to 12s 2d. Wether hoggets fetched 8s (id to Us 6d; two tooth ewes sold to 15s 9d; and ewe hoggets to 12s 6d. rat Lamos. —-The entry was 500. The quality, was very poor. There was a keen demand for quality. Best iambs sold to 30s 7d. Fat Sheep.—The entry was 5000. The quality was much improved. The sale was a:; firm as last week in all classes excepting light wethers, quite a few of these being purchased by the freezing companies. Best wethers were a shade' better. The buying de - mand was easier over the final stages, except for isolated sales. Best wethers sold to 30s 4d, and best ewes to 27s 4d.

Fat Cattle.—The entry was 490. The quality was much improved. A good sale resulted, with values definiiei,, better in ail classes. Best, steer bee. was up by 20s bead, and medium bv 10s to 15s, with indifferent classes ' firmer. Best beef sold lo 40s per 100 lbs. Extra prime heavy steers sold to 'll7 17s 6d, prime heavy steers £l3 15s it o 115, nrime medium steers £ll 10s ! t'o 113 10s, ordinary and light steers 1 15 to £lO 15s. Extra prime cows sold up to £ll 12s 6d, prime cows £7 5s to 18 15s, medium cows £5 10s to £6 15s and light cows to £5 ss. Vealers. —'There was a small entry, with a keen sale, showing a delinite improvement. Bost runners sold to £7 13s 6d. Store Cattle. —'There was a very small entry, with nothing to quote. Fat pigs'--'There was a smaller entry, but little improvement, in values. I Best quality was in keen demand. There was a medium supply, of bacon and a good sale resulted. Light pork sold from 31s 6d to 38s 6d, medium pork 41s 6d to 47s 6d, and heavy pork 49s 6d In 54s 6d, the price per lb being 6',d lo (Hd.
