BHoR RADIO ANNOUNCERS. Drake-Brockman, of the Aus-'-fßn Arbitration Court, has referrCourt the hearing of claims the Announcers’ Association because a compulsory
conference between the association and the Australian Federation of Commercial Broadcasting Stations has ended in a deadlock. Higher salaries sought in the association’s log are £2l a week for senior announcers, £l5 15s for announcers, £lO 10s for junior announcers, and £6 4s for cadet announcers. For announcers required to prepare '
copy for broadcasting an extra 20 per cent, is sought. The association asks for an extra 10 per cent, for announcers engaged in rehearsals or in dramatic presentations for more than 10 hours a day. A 30-hour week, three weeks’ annual leave, and paid public holidays are also sought.
