Gold 148 s 6d, dollar 4/68 3-16, franc 176 13-16. The Stock markets are still dominated by political uncertainties. Business is negligible, with the exception of shipping, which improved as a result of the subsidy announcement. At the wool sales, 6,865 bales were offered,. including 4,760 New Zealand, and 5,981 were sold. The selection was good. New Zealand crossbreds and moderate Australian merinos were in keen demand, and an excellent clearance was effected, at steady rates. New Zealand greasy crossbred, Otoka, 93d to 93d, Montalto 103 d. Scoured merino bellies, Kennington/M 143 d.

RABBITSKIN SALE. DUNEDIN, March 28. A fair offering of rabbitskins was submitted at to-day’s auction before a large attendance of exporters, furriers, and the local trade. Catalogues comprised principally hatters’ grades, with moderate parcels of dawny and early autumns. Competition was keen from the outset, and buying was well spread. As compared with the last sale’s quotations (February 28), values for all grades were a shade firmer. The official range of prices is as follows:—Small 53d to 73d per lb., runners 133 d to 143 d, light racks 18d to 183 d, prime racks 18d to 183 d, summers 13d to 14d, dawny autumns 183 d to 193 d, second early autumns 193 d to 20d, first early autumns 20d to 243 d, summer broken 15d to 173 d, summer blacks 103 d to 133 d, fawns 253 d to 303 d, hare skins lOd to 113 d, milk 123 d to 13d, and first milky 153 d to 16d.
