GREYMOUTH BOROUGH COUNCIL CIVIC SQUARE (LAND PURCHASE) LOAN, 1938, OF £lO,OOO. tctOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that .the Greymouth Borough Council proposes to raise a Special Loan of £lO,OOO, and that the following particulars in respect of such proposed loan are hereby published in compliance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.” ' I PARTICULARS OF PROPOSED ' LOAN. I 1. The loan is required for the pu:'pose of acquiring a block of land, being Lot 2, Section 287, Block 11, Greymouth Native Reserve 31, at present occupied by the Anglican Church Trustees, for the purpose of establishing a Civic Square in the centre of the town, and the preparation and laying out of the same. 2. The sum proposed to be borrowed for such purpose is- £lO,OOO. 3. The term of the loan shall be thirty years, and the rate of interest that mav be paid in respect of the loan is not to exceed £3/10/- per centum per annum. 4. The loan is to be repaid by the establishment of a sinking fund calculated on the amount to be raised, of not less than £2 per centum per annum.

5. The proposed security for payment of the loan and interest is to be the levying of a special rate of .435074 of a penny in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Greymouth. 6. It is proposed to pay out of the loan the cost of raising the loan.

7. It is not proposed to pay out of the loan any interest or sinking fund in respect of the loan.

AND FURTHER PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given pursuant to Section II of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, that a poll of the -ratepayers in the Borough of Greymouth will be taken on the above proposal to raise such Special Loan of £lO,OOO on the 19tn day of APRIL, 1939, at the following Polling Places: — The Town Hall, Mackay Street (Tower Entrance). The United Football Club’s Pavilion, Recreation Ground, Shakespeare Street. The Scout Hall, Town Belt North, Greymouth. The Blaketown Citizens’ Hall, Reid Street, Blaketown.
