THE WEATHER
[Per Press Association] WELLINGTON, March 10. The weather report and forecast are as follows: —General situation: Anticyclones are located east of the Dominion, and over Tasmania, while between the two is an elongated depression which extends from the South Island to New South Wales. Forecast: Winds south-easterly predominating in the south, otherwise mainly between north-east and north-west, but southerlies possibly extending tempori arily.as far north as Cook Strait; force strong in exposed positions, otherwise moderate. Seas (N.Z. waters): Rather rough at times about Cook Strait and on the west coast of the South Island; moderate elsewhere. Eastern Tasman Sea: Winds easterly in the northern portion, north-westerly in the central, and south-easterly in . the southern nortion; force strong in the south witn rough seas; elsewhere moderate with moderate seas. Weather: Fair in the Auckland province, otherwise cloudy to overcast with rain at times, the falls being only light, however, in Can- ’’ terbury and north of Nelson and Marlborough, and conditions probably improving in the southern half of the North Island. Temperatures warm in the north and cool in the south.
