CATTLE FOR CHINA. [Per Press Association] AUCKLAND, March 10. In spite of passing through a typhoon 50 New Zealand Jersey heifers and three hunters were safely delivered to a dairy farm in Shanghai by Mr W. H. Garland, of Henderson, who returned to Auckland yesterday! by the steamer Sydney Maru. Thej cattle were sent by Mr A. S. Tetzner, of Patumahoe, who took 40 head of cattle to China in 1937. the New Zealand Sheeepowners’ Federation and Farmers’ Union. The Minister for Labour (the Hon P. C. Webb) will preside at Wednesday’s conference. He was absent from the first meeting. It is his duty, as Minister, finally to fix the wages under an extension order of the Agricultural Workers’ Act.
