GOLF PROS TO TOUR N.Z. Norman Von Nida, open champion of the Philippine Islands, and Eric Cremin, Australian professional champion, two of Australia’s finest golfers, will tour New Zealand at the end of this month. They will play two or three exhibitions in the Soutfi Island and complete their tour by working up the west coast of the North Island to Auckland. From there they will sail for America to compete in the United States Open on June 8-10 and in the British Open in July. Cremin is match play champion of Australian professionals. His record last year was almost as good as Jim Ferrier’s. Von Nida, a former Brisbane caddy who rose to greatness by hard work, recently toured the Philippines with Cremin and for the second year in succession won the open championship against a strong field. John Montague, the famous “shovel-and-rake” mystery golfer, was a competitor. ■ ' . Von Nida has defeated Gene Sarazen, Walter Hagen, and Bobby Locke in matches with side-bets of £5O. In Australia he ranks second to Jim Ferrier.
