STANDING ARMY
IN AUSTRLIA TO COST MILLION A YEAR. [Aus. & N.Z. Cable Assn.] (Received February 28, 10.40 p.m.) SYDNEY, February 28. The Federal Cabinet, at a sitting In Sydney, approved of the establishment of a standing army of ten thousand men. The men are to be enlisted at the rate of 2000 yearly over the next five years. The cost of such an army is estimated at four million pounds a year.
