THE WEATHER
[Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, December 13. The weather report and forecast are as follows:—Though pressure is still, low from Eastern Australia to beyond New Zealand, gradients have decreased considerably, and an anticyclone is approaching Tasmania. Forecast: Winds north-east to northerly prevailing, light to moderate, but freshening, a change to southerlies being probable in the far South tomorrow morning and gradually extending northwards. Seas (New Zealand waters): Slight to moderate, but later rising, except on the East Coast south of East Cape. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate to strong north-east--to north-west winds, but a change to south-westerlies is advancing from the west. Seas moderate, but later rising. Weather mainly fair in eastern districts from Hawke’s Bay southwards; otherwise cloudy to overcast and in places misty, with some rain. Later rain is extending to eastern districts. Temperatures mild, but a cool change to-morrow in the South.
