[Our Own Correspondent] On Saturday afternoon last a concert was given in St., Patrick’s School by the pupils, when parents and friends were present and manifested their appreciation of the varied and entertaining programme. Rev. Father Healy thanked' the audience for their attendance, and expressed his appreciation of the work pt the Sisters of Mercy in undertaking such a formidable task as the training of the children. Many have expressed the wish that at least some of the, items be reproduced at a public entertainment. Some items such as the “Norwegian ivit.” and Maxina, and the one entitled "Butterflies” would command appreciation .under more favourable conditions and lighting effects. An outstanding feature was the presentation of the Wedding of Jack and Jill iri which, over. 40 pupils took part, the junior pupils filling the more important roles, in tact the whole programme was one of outstanding merit. / .. • < .■ ; 5 ... Wishes for a pleasant., and happy Xmas vacation - were extended to all, and the children were, treated to lollies and ice cream and complimentary passes to the pictures on Monday night. ...The programme was as follows:— Chorus—“ The Cherry Song”; Action Song—“My Toy Balloon’’; Kazoo Band—Kumara Juveniles; ;.
