N.Z. LABOUR PARTY
PAROA BRANCH. The monthly meeting of the Paroa Branch of the New Zealand Labour Party was.*held on Sunday, Mr Ji H. Ferguson presiding over an attendance of sixteen members. Two new members were nominated and accepted. Correspondence from Mr D. Wilson, National Secretary, was read and discussed. It was decided that the branch purchase literature for the use of members, 16 members to be levied 6d for the use of each book. -• Messrs H. Ferguson, J. Coulton and N. Ramsay were appointed to select the literature. It was unaminously decided ’.that the Paroa Branch support the candidates nominated by the Greymouth Branch for National Offices as follows:— ; . President, Mr Jas. O’Brien, M.P.; Vice-president, Mr R. McKeen, M.P.; Secretary-treasurer, Hon. D. Wilspn, M.L.C.; Central Executive (five niembers), Mrs R. Semple; Hori. T. fiirindle, M.L.C., and’ Messrs R. McKeen, M.P., A. Coombs, M.P., and Mr P. Dowse; Area Officer, Mr A. H. MeKane. The chairman extended good wishes to all members for the Christmas and New Year. The next meeting will be held on the third Sunday in January, 1939, at 8 p.m.
