FOR BRITISH EXPORTERS. RUGBY, December 8. The President of the Board of Trade introduced a Bill, in the Commons, to extend the powers of the Board, to give guarantees for the purpose of establishing or encouraging oversea trade, and the Hill was formally read a first time. It amends the Exports Guarantees Act of 1937, under which the aggregate amount of the Board’s liabilities at any time was £50,000,000. The maximum under the Bill is £75,000,with’ an additional £10,000,000 (under another clause, which 4 authorises guarantees “in connection with any matter for which it appears that guarantees should be given.”
