The funeral of the late Mrs Johanna Mary Carruthers, which was largely attended, took place on Saturday. Requiem Mass was celebrated at 9.30 a.m. by Rev. Father Holohan, who also conducted the service at the graveside. Miss Moira McSherry played the “Dead March In Saul” as the cortege left the church at 2.30 p.m. for the Karoro Cemetery. The Municipal - Band, of which deceased’s husband and sons are members, was in attendance, playing the “Dead March” and “The Garland of Flowers,” while the pall-pearers were members of the Band.
