TEACHER TRAINING

Making It Easier WELLINGTON, December 2. Developments and improvements made in regard to the Training Colleges were mentioned by the Minister of Education, Hon. P. Fraser, at the break-up ceremony at Wellington Training College to-day. Mr Fraser said that a matter of importance to future students was the abolition of the training college entrance examination which was regarded as unnecessary when students had passed the Matriculation examination. He hoped the latter examination would not last •much longer either (applause), and that the members .of the University Senate present would convey his earnest wish to that body that consideration of the abolition of that examination be tackled at next meeting. No one wanted the examination.
