RUGBY, November 29. The American Ambassador to London (Mr Joseph Kennedy), at a luncheon given by the American ’ Chamber of Commerce to' celebrate the signing of the British-American trade agreement, said that in it they could realise the rebirth of common sense in international economy,., and the first step towards economic disarmament The President of the Board of Trade (Mr Oliveri Stanley) said that thg. agreement was not a political move in a political bargain, but', nevertheless, he would stress its political value. The agreement, so .far from destroying the Ottawa Agreements, he continued,-had left them unaffected. It was a step towards the attainment of the gaol of peace. ' , ■ i RUGBY, November 30. Sir R.. Lindsay, British Ambassador at Washington, who is' leaving for England on leave on Friday, ; paid a farewell call on the State Department. ■; It is reported that he discussed with the Acting Secretary of.
