THE WEATHER

WELLINGTON, November 29. The weather report and forecast are as follows:— General situation: Pressure is still high to the east, while an extensive depression covers Tasmania and the Tasman Sea. Forecast: Winds rather variable in Cook Strait and on the East Coast of the South island, but east to north winds still, generally prevailing, the force for the most part being light to moderate, but strong at times in exposed positions. Seas (N.Z. waters): Rough north of East Cape and between Kawhia and Farewell /Spit; elsewhere, mainly slight to moderate, but with a considerable swell on the East Coast. Eastern Tasman Sea: South-east to north-east winds prevailing, strong at times in .the northern portion, and light to j, moderate in the southern. Seas rattier rough to rough in the central arid northern portions; and slight to moderate in the southern. Weather: Cloudy, warm and humid, with mist or fog in places. Rain at times in most districts. Some scattered heavy falls are probable, but little in the far north and south.
