' Seas in New Zealand waters: Rough, but decreasing, north of East’ Cape; elsewhere, mainly light to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Light to moderate and variable winds, with northerlies predominating. Sea slight to moderate. Weather: Fair at first in the eastern districts of the South Island; elsewhere, cloudy to overcast, withrain at times in the western and far northern areas. Unsettled conditions are gradually becoming more general. Temperatures mild.
