The weather . report and . forecast are as follows:— General situation: Pressure remains high to the east of New Zealand, but a complex depression covers the Tasman Sea area, the lowest pressure being in the south-west portion. Forecast: Winds rather variable, but with north-easterly to northerly winds still predominating* and with the force mainly light to moderate, but fresh at times in exposed positions. - , - . . ' Seas in New Zealand waters: Rough, but decreasing, north of East’ Cape; elsewhere, mainly light to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Light to moderate and variable winds, with northerlies predominating. Sea slight to moderate. Weather: Fair at first in the eastern districts of the South Island; elsewhere, cloudy to overcast, withrain at times in the western and far northern areas. Unsettled conditions are gradually becoming more general. Temperatures mild.
