WAIHO NOTES
[Our Own Correspondent.] Miss M. Stevenson is away on a holiday trip to Christchurch and Wellington. Miss N. Wilson leaves this' week on annual holiday, for Christchurch and Wellington. The many friends of Mr M. Car-' roll will be pleased to learn that he is well on' tfie road to health again. He is a patient in the Westland Hospital. ;- ■ ; It was with regret that residents learned of the sad passing of Mr Augustus Gawne. For several years Gus had resided in this district, and his death removes one who was widely known and well-respected. During these last few days, several of the staff have been taking advantage of the warm weather, and Lake Mapourika once again has become the popular resort for bathers. The road to the Franz Josef Glacier is progressing very rapidly. With a fair run of good weather, jt should not be many months when the tourist will be able to park his car at the terminal moraine.
