PLANES SET OUT From Ismalia for Australia (Received November 6, 6.30 p.m.) LONDON, November 5. Three Vickers Wellesley planes took off from Ismalia for Australia at 3.55 a.m. G.M.T. They were reported south-west of Karachi at 5.50 p.m., G.M.T., all on their true course. The speed of the No. 1 plane, was 173 miles an hour; that of No. 3 plane 167 miles an hour; and that of No. 2 plane 165 miles an hour. SYDNEY, November 5. The non-stop flight of the VickersWellesley aeroplanes from Ismalia to Australia has been postponed unt;l tomorrow, beginning about noSn. Weather conditions at present are unfavourable. RUGBY, November 4. The Secretary of State for War (Mr Hore Belisha), in the House of Commons, mentioned that there was being put into operation a 4.511. gun which will further strengthen the anti-aircraft armament. He hoped those allotted 3.7 in. guns would not consider them obsolete, as the 3.7 in. was as complementary to the 4.5 in. as the 3in. gun to the 3.7 in.
