[Our Own Correspondent.] Mrs Winder is on a visit to Hokitika to seek medical treatment. Mrs J. Peterson was conveyed to the Westland Hospital on Saturday last. . . Mesdames Sweeny and Wright visited Greymouth to be present at the Labour ball Io be held on Monday night. Mrs R. Shearer of Kumara is at present visiting Harihari. Mr D. Berry who has been on a visit to his parents has returned to Timaru
There have been some good runs of whitebait in the South Westlaqd rivers in the past week. A large entry of fat and store cattle is booked by the various auctioneers for sale at the Wataroa (Waitangi) yards next Thursday. A car load of local residents at ten.... ed the ball held at Waiho Gorge on Saturday last. Owing to the prevalence of measles here, mainly with the older people, many have been off duty for about a week. In each case the attack appears to be in a very mild form. The manager of the Inter-Wanganui Dairy Coy expects to have the new factory ready for operations about the first week in November. The annual meeting of the InterWanganui Dairy Coy took place at the factory on Monday afternoon last, when the attendance numbered about 30 suppliers. Of the two retiring directors Mr J. J. McKay was returned along with Mr R. McMillan. The latter replaces Mr L. R. Diedrich, who failed in the ballot, along with Mr John Hewer (Junr.).
