In the Davis Cup contest, the third round at Budapest resulted: Gabory (Hungary) defeated Metaxa (Germany) 7/5, 6/4, 4/6, 2/6, 7/5. Henkel and Metaxa (Germany) defeated Dallos and Asboth (Hungary) 5/6, 6/1, 8/6, 6/3. At Brussels, Mohammed Ghaus (India) defeated Maeyaert (Belgium) 5/7, 2/6, 6/3, 6/1, 9/7. Rain prevented the second singles match. At Paris, Petra (France) defeated Taroni (Italy) 6/0, 6/2, 6/3. Destremeau (France) defeated Canapele . (Italy) 3/6, 6/0, 6/3, 7/5. ENGLISH MATCHES.
LONDON, May 28. In the Middlesex tennis semi-finals results were:—
Mrs Fabyan and Miss Marble (America) defeated Mrs Hopman and Miss Stevenson (Australia) 6/3, 6/3. Misses Heinmiller and Morphew defeated Misses Dearman and Ingram 0/6, 6/3, 8/6. The doubles final was divided, owing to rain. In the women’s singles Miss Jedrzejowska defeated Miss Bundy 7/5, 6/2. In the men’s singles Choy defeated Filby 6/2, 6/4.
