BRITISH SHIPPING
SLOW CONNECTIONS.
WITH AUSTRALIA
[Aust. & N.Z. Cable Assn.] LONDON, May 26
It is hoped, as soon as possible, to ■ speed up the Anglo-Australian liner] services. It is understood that with i the Orient company’s and P. and O. | company’s replacements of older ships virtually completed faster schedules i will be possible than the existing ones, which have been unchanged for many years. A question was recently raised in the Commons, especially Iby members of the Commons who lately visited Australia, who were surprised to discover the voyage from London to Melbourne still takes five weeks. Member's of the delegation led oy Sir Ear! Page (Australian Minister) also interested themselves in the question, and there will be a, geimr* pi discussion on shipping problems tonight. when they wi’l be guests of Sir Alan Anderson, and the Orient, directors, who invited leading sb pping and industrial representatives to dine with them after which there I will be informal discussions.
