At a meeting of the New Zealand Rugby League Council, it was announced that George Nepia was not. available for the League team’s tour in Australia. It was decided to defer the selection of a player to replace him until tomorrow night. W. McNeight .of Newton was appointed Captain of the team, and R. Brown of Canterbury was selected as vice-captain. N.Z. REPRESENTATIVES. i Messrs W. Glynn (Runanga), and G. Orman (Buller) the two West Coast players selected In the New Zealand League team to tour Australia, left yesterday for Auckland. i The twentv-two players selected for the New Zealand Rugby League tour of Australia have all passed the medical examination. The members of the team are to assemble in Auckland on Sunday morning. The West Coast players were joined at Christchurch last night by R.| Brown (Canterbury) and at Welling-, ton J. Cootes will leave with them for Auckland, whence they sail on Monday evening.

Prior to his departure yesterday, Mr Glynn was farewelled at the station by officials of the West Coast League on whose behalf a presentation of a wallet of notes was made by the Secretary (Mr D. Faris). Members of the Runanga Club also farewelled Mr Glynn on Wednesday evening, when a presentation of a ( wallet of notes was made by the Mayor (Mr R. McTaggart), who congratulated him upon his selection in| the New Zealand team, and wished, him an enjoyable trip. The president. (Mr J. Medlin) and members of the| club added their congratulations and Mr Glynn suitably replied. INANGAHUA CENTRE.

Mr. C. H. Chandler, presided at the weekly meeting of the Inangahua Rugby League on Wednesday. A motion of sympathy was passed to the President (Mr. C. Coxall) in his illness, and members expressed the hope that he would soon return to normal health. A welcome was extenaed to Mr. R. Chandler, who has been elected to the Management Committee. Mr. A. Leese, Inangahua Delegate on the New Zealand League, forwarded a full report on the last meeting of the Council. The New Zealand League wrote asking tor a copy of the constitution under which the Inangahua League was working. It| was left to the Secretary to attend to this matter. The Treasurer of the Canterbury League enclosed a cheque for the gate money of the representative match, Inangahua v. Canterbury, also advising that negotiations had been ’ opened for a visit from the Balmain (Sydney) team this season. It was decided to move

on the same lines and endeavour to have this team visit Inangahua and Buller. The West Coast League forwarded a statement of expense for the trial matches, and also a cheque for Inangahua’s share of the gate money. Referees’ cards for last week’s matches were received as satisfactory. The Secretary advised that Victoria

Square, Westport, had been granted for this week’s matches in Buller and that he was arranging for an Inangahua Club team to visit Westport on Saturday. It was decided that when this arrangement is completed, the Secretary publish the senior fixtures for this week. It was also reported that arrangements were in train for the starting of the Rugby League Code in an outlying district, and that present, prospects were very bright. A junior match was arranged for this week, Junction v. Waiuta, at. Junction. Reefton has a bye.
