Nazi Methods SPEEDING UP WORKERS. I Aust. & N.Z. Cable Assn.] LONDON. May 26. (Received May 26, 11.35 p.m.) . A message from the Vienna correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph" says: “Herr Hitler staggered the population by his replanning of Aus- ' tria. He is abolishing provincial Governments, and is substituting leaders and organisers. The new Vienna becomes nearly as large as greater London. Another shock was caused by' the speeding up of workers. The work I in the Government Departments is to begin at 7.30 a.nt. from July Ist., while the supervision of the factories engaged on Government contracts will be far stricter than it was in the , pre-Nazi days. Austrian Jews TURNED BACK FROM FRANCE [ GERMANS FOILED. [Aust. & N.Z. Cable Assn.] LONDON, May 26. ■The Paris correspondent of “The Times’’ says: Nazi Black Guards brought fifty-six Austrian Jews by lorry to Sterck, on the French frontier, and told them to enter France. The Jews later told French people, that after deprivation of their property, they were forced to sign papers renouncing their German nationality. French guards escorted the Jews back to the German frontier, on the ground that Germany could not be allowed to create a precedent by expelling her own subjects to foreign soil in defiiance of international law. German frontier guards tried to stop the Jews from returning, but finally they escorted them back to barracks. . ■
