BRITISH AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIPS. LONDON, May 25. In (he British amateur golf championship contest, second round results were:— Robb beat the holder Sweeny 5/4. Mackay beat Howie 2/1. Yates, an American Walker Cun player, defeated Pennink, the English champion 3/2.

Hector Thomson defeated Grant Govan one up. Goodman defeated Briscoe 6,7. The Cambridge blue, Jocelyn Walker Cup player. Reynold Smith, two up. THIRD ROUND. . Third round results were:— Ewing (Ireland), defeated Ouimet, one up. J. N. Reynard defeated McKay, cne up. Ryan defeated J. C. Wilson (Scottish international) 2/1. Hattersley defeated Gordon Feters '4/2; Hattersley scored a crashing success in defeating the British Walker Cup player, Peters, one of the most powerful West of Scotland players, and strongly fancied for the championship. The match was square at the turn. Then Hattersley with a devastating run, 3,3, 4,4, 2, 4. 4, took the match.
