THE WEATHER
I Per Press Association.! WELLINGTON, May 20. The weather report and forecast are as follows: — General situation: Pressure is low to the east, and stormy conditions prevail there, but an anti-cyclone is advancing from the Tasman Sea on to the Dominion.
Forecast: Moderate to strong southerly winds, of gale force at. first in some exposed positions, about and north of Cook Strait, but moderating. Seas (N.Z. waters): Rough to high at first in the Cook Strait area; rough elsewhere north of Farewell Spit and between Banks Peninsula and East Cape; otherwise moderate, and gradually decreasing generally.
Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate to strong southerlj’ winds and rough seas, but wind and sea are moderating.
Weather changeable, and with scattered, passing showers at first in North Auckland and between Banks Peninsula and East Cape, but improving; and elsewhere fine. Temperatures cold, with some sharp frosts.
