U.S.A. SPY HUNT
EX-NAZI WITNESS Leaves at Critical Juncture I Aust. & N.Z. Cable Assn. I NEW YORK, May 19. Doctor Ignatz Greibl, who at one time was the National Leader of the American Nazis, and who was one of the United Stales’ chief witnesses in the Government’s greatest peace time spy hunt, has disappeared. He has disappeared mysteriously only a few days before the opening of the Grand Jury hearing of the Federal agents have learned that he sailed for Germany aboard the liner Bremen on Thursday. They requested the French authorities at Cherbourg to ask him to return to the United States, but the Captain of the Bremen would not. allow the French officials to make contact with Dr. Greibl. The American Federal Agents are now trying to ascertain whether Dr. Greibl has been forced to return to Germany by threats. The wife of Dr. Greibl laughs at the suggestion that he was kidnapped py Nazis, and she says that Dr. Greibi will return to America in three weeks’ time.
