GERMAN COLONIES
DEMAND FOR RETURN
To be Pushed Harder
fAust. & N.Z. Cable Assn.] (Received May 18, 8.50 p.m.) BERLIN, May 18.
Captain Wenig, propoganda leader In the German Colonial League, in a speech at Munich, declared that the absorption of Austria and Germany’s claim to colonies were now more urgent than they were before. He emphasised that Herr Hitler had recently warned the world that Germany’s rightful demands could not be ignored, and it was not his way to keep on demanding a thing for long. “Unfortunately,” he said, “our colonies do not lie on our borders. Otherwise, foreign statesmen might wake up one fine morning to find that we’ve already marched into them. Germany wants, and she must have, her place in the sun. We demand the return of our colonies. All of them they are our’s, and we mean to have them.”
