SYDNEY LAWYER

STRUCK OFF ROLLS. SYDNEi, May 14. Found guilty of grave professional misconduct, Frank Edward Maddocks Cohen, well-known solicitor, will have his name removed from the roll of solicitors. Yesterday, the Statutory Committee of the Law Institute upheld the following charges against Maddocks Cohen: — He failed to keep a trust account and mixed trust money with his own money. He was not, at all relevant times, in a position to meet, all proper claims against him, in respect of trust money. .He swore that there was £174 17s 5d in credit in his estate trust account, whereas he knew that there was no money available for such credit. He misappropriated trust money. NOT GUILTY. Charges of professional misconduct • against Edward S. Beeby, solicitor, had not been established, the committee found. “Mi- . Beeby’#. conduct has glyen rise to very justifiable suspicion. "He has only himself to blame for the position in which he has found himself placed by this reference,” the committee said.
