Among the races won be Degage were the Queen’s Plate and Cornwall Handicap at Ellerslie and the Prince of Wales Handicap and Tamatete Cup at Awapuni, but her favourite racecourse was Tauherenikau. where .she won about a dozen times. Agrion as Sire: The New Zealand-bred horse Agrion, who was bought by a West Australian sportsman, and who won several races at Perth meetings prior to being relegated to the stud, has a good record as a parent. At the ■autumn meeting held at Perth last month Agrion had his first classic race winner when Jungle Lady led the field home in the West Australian St. Ledger. Agrion, who is by Limond, will be best remembered in the Dominion for his victory in the New Zealand Derby of 1927. Trotting Notes Man o’ War’s Record: Man o’ War, one of the notable sires bred in America, is 22 years old. A statement published in connection with Man o’ War’s stud career sho.vs that up to the close of 1937 258 foals registered were entered against his name, and the racing record of his progeny is given as follows:—Races, 5318, wins, 846, second, 730, third 647.
