Mr Lee Martin, accompanied by Dr. Cockayne, reached Melbourne to-day from 'Canberra, after attending the Agricultural Conference. He suggested a regular system of exchange o! field officers of the Australian and New Zealand Departments. One probable outcome of the Canberra Conference is stricter supervision on the quality of sheep exported from New Zealand.
Mr Lee Martin is touring Victoria and South Australia, returning to Melbourne next week-end. SHIP REFLOATED. SYDNEY, May 15. Advice was received that the Port St. John is now en route to Sydney for docking. It is believed that the ship suffered only minor damage. BRISBANE, May 16. The Canonbar has been refloated, and is reported to be undamaged. SYDNEY CRIME WAVE. SYDNEY, May 16. One of the worst outbreaks of violent crimes for many years occurred at Sydney at the week-end. One of four men stabbed in two different affrays will probably die. Pour other men were shot in two underworld feuds. One man was battered by a thug, and there were a number of smash and grab raids in the city. Police wireless cars and cycles experienced a very busy time. Two constables were injured, one critically, when a motor cycle crashed into a brick wall during a chase.
